Gallery Perth Grand Opening!

Title: Gallery Perth Grand Opening!
Description: Perth Picture Framing Gallery is preparing a Grand Opening for its new gallery: Gallery Perth. A refreshment reception vernnisage will be held from 2-5pm on Saturday, July 15th to celebrate this event and to meet the artists. Owner Veronica Airth has been in the picture framing business for 9 years in Perth and is honoured to feature artists Aili Kurtis, Joyce Devlin, Rosemary Kralik, Douglas Manning and to introduce several other local, talented artists. Please come and join us; the art show and sale will continue throughout the summer. Everyone is invited to come and have a look! The addition of an art gallery to Perth Picture Framing fulfills a long held dream for Veronica Airth. When she opened her framing business in 1997 the intention was to eventually add a gallery where she could show Canadiana as well as the work of local artists in various media. It has long been my desire to sell and promote the work of creative people and it comes naturally to me. Perth and surrounding area is home to a thriving community of talented and creative people, says Ms. Airth. Veronica Airth came to the Perth area in 1974 after having worked with her brother, who owned and operated a picture framing studio and art gallery in Toronto. She continued her training with Joyce Devlin in colour, canvas stretching and other related skills, and eventually, in 1997, she opened her own framing shop at its present location, 16 Wilson St. West, Perth. As well as framing and matting, Veronica also repairs, cleans and restores paintings, and offers a hanging service and advise on how to display your art work in your home or office. Exhibiting memorabilia to advantage, and using shadow boxes to enhance objects are two of her special talents. Recently she completed a project with Chris Stewart for the White House Annex on Wilson Street opposite Code's Mill. One of her favourite projects was for the Upper Canada District School Board, where she framed some 100 children's paintings and drawings, soe of which now hang at the Board offices in Brockville. Not only has Veronica Airth fulfilled her own dream, but she is also giving an opportunity for artists to show their work, and for visitors to her gallery to see the work of local artists.
