BIOGRAPHY

Marje graduated from the Graphic Design Program at Algonquin College and worked primarily in communication graphics for many years. She is currently involved in graphic design on a freelance basis and provides private instruction in basic drawing and painting. She has also set up and taught art classes for seniors and children.

Through the years Marje has studied at St. Lawrence School of Arts in Brockville, The Ottawa School of Art, and Bob Grant’s Fine Art Studio in Ottawa.

She has taken workshops with Richard Gill, Doug Purdon, Henry Vyfvinkel, Andrea Green, Robert Hyndman, Peter Doef, Jerry Weiss, Ian Roberts and American impressionist artist, Anatoly Dverin.

Marje studied with Dana Brezina at York Studio in Ottawa, a private art school with focus on knowledge-based foundation in drawing and painting and a master-student concept of teaching.

Marje works primarily in oils and enjoys painting outside “en plein air”. Many of her paintings reflect the seasons and beauty of Lanark County.
