Bryce Bell
Bryce
has been involved in a wide range of creative activities spanning some 50
years. These include painting and drawing; large metal sculptures; interior
and landscape consulting; architecture (owner of Bestiga Construction Inc.
- specializing in designer / builder of residential construction). An example
of this is a 25 foot high commercial grade glass addition to his century home
in Balderson - as featured in the Ottawa citizen in October 2004.
He has also accumulated an extensive collection of large architectural shards
which were employed in both residential and landscape applications.
Bryce was raised with a strong appreciation and understanding of the potential
inherent value of a creative approach to life. Today he and his wife Margo
live in a home that houses paintings produced by seven members of his family,
dating back over four generations. He has been painting virtually all his
life - being first publicly recognized at the Ottawa Exhibition Art Forum
in 1962 and more recently was highlighted in the art magazine "Guerilla Art"
as one of the featured artists at a group showing of 40 artists in Ottawa
(July 2009).
In retirement he is a full time professional artist focusing on contemporary
representational figurative art. His emphasis is on 'strength of line' and
the integrity of the interpretive composition and corresponding design. He
has a strong commitment to the depiction of the human reality.
Bryce's studio is near Balderson - just outside Perth, Ontario and he can
